The Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA) participated in the Governance Symposium in Private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), which was held under the patronage of Her Excellency Prof Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MoHERI), and in the presence of Her Excellency Dr Jokha bint Abdullah Al Shukaili, CEO of OAAAQA and a number of Their Excellencies, Chairs and Deans of universities and private colleges.
During the symposium, Her Excellency the CEO of OAAAQA presented a working paper entitled “Governance in Private Higher Education Institutions”, during which she reviewed a number of topics, the most important of which are: the general concept of governance, governance in the higher education quality system in the Sultanate of Oman, and the mechanism for measuring the performance of governance in HEIs. The current status of institutions in meeting the governance standard, and OAAAQA’s role in raising the sector's performance. The symposium concluded with a dialogue session, during which discussions, questions and observations were made by the participants.
