Al-Shura Education meets OAAAQA

The Education and Scientific Research Committee of the Shura Council met with HE Dr Jokha bint Abdullah Al Shukaili, CEO of Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA), and a number of concerned staff in OAAAQA, in the context of reviewing OAAAQA’s role and work after expanding its competencies under Royal Decree 9/2021.
 
During the meeting, Her Excellency gave a presentation that included an overview of OAAAQA, its organisational structure, its activities and quality assurance processes in the higher education sector. The presentation also touched on the topic of ensuring the quality of school education and the topic of the National Qualifications Framework. In addition to discussing about OAAAQA’s efforts and achievements, and addressing the various challenges and difficulties facing OAAAQA.
 
This occurred during the sixth periodic meeting of the third annual session (2021-2022) of the ninth term of the Council headed by His Excellency Jamal bin Ahmed Al-Abri, Chairman of the Committee, and in the presence of Their Excellencies the members of the Committee.
 
The committee, also discussed several topics related to the work of OAAAQA, and its competencies in order to ensure greater quality and effectiveness of evaluation processes for higher and school education in the Sultanate of Oman; for accurate results and indicators of the level of education and opening up wider areas for its development, improvement and advancement to the highest levels.
