Dr. Hamed Hashim Al Dhahab

Dr. Hamed has an illustrious academic record.  He earned his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Friendship University in Moscow-Russia, and followed it up with another Master degree in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University, USA.  He went ahead with his academic pursuit by accomplishing a doctorate in Industrial Engineering and Management of Technology from Cranfield University, UK.

He was a long serving member of the Higher Education Council and Chairperson of Accreditation Council for Higher Education in Oman, now known as Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA).

Dr. Hamed’s innovative thinking and passionate leadership has taken him across diverse roles in the Government and Corporate and Community sectors.  He served as Director General of Industry-Ministry of Commerce and Industry, CEO of Oman Polypropylene, GM-HR of Orpic and CEO of Jusoor, a CSR Foundation.  He is currently heading National United Engineering & Contracting Co, a multi discipline engineering company based in Muscat as CEO.

Dr. Al Dhahab has served as Chairman of a number of prestigious organisations, notably Oman Air and Oman Emirates Investment Holding Company.  He held the position of vice chairman of Majan Electricity Company.  He has been a board member of Galfar Engineering and Contracting Company.  He is also the present Chairman of Asharqia Investment Holding Company, Oman.

Having made lasting contributions across the spectrum, his wisdom is much sought after by a host of institutions in the Sultanate.  It is noteworthy to mention that Dr. Al Dhahab is actively associated with many other organisations which are engaged in several cause-related initiatives contributing to educational, industrial and socio economic development across the country.
